Dark cloud continues to over shadow pirates.

Dark cloud continues to over shadow Orlando Pirates football club as we are nearing to the new 2017/18 PSL season.  The past two weeks have been too hactic for the Soweto giant as speculations about pirates wish to fire Kjell Jonervret were all over.

Wednesday morning every football fan was welcomed by the news that Kjoll Jonervret has resigned as Orlando Pirates football coach. But could this act bring back glory to the buccaneers?  As many would like to say it, history does have the tendency of repeat itself.  Muhsin Artugral is the victim of such circumstance. He was appointed pirates coach after a stunning season with the then Mpumalanga Black Aces but his tenure only lasted for five months with the baccaneers. He announced his resignation live on television after Pirates were humiliated 6-1 against Supersport United.

This act will never bring pirates back to glory unless they repent. Imposing pressure to force their coach to resign will only bring confusion upon players and the rest of the team in general. Why don’t they learn from their counterpart Kaizer Chiefs? It has been two seasons now without chiefs laying their hands to any major trophy available but  the team is holding on their coach Steve Khomphela as long as possible. They support him against all odds. Even when the club supporters are calling on the team to fire him, the team still hold trust in him that he will provide and bring excitement back.

As it was reported in the media this past week, former Uganda Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is expected to take up the big jog at Orlando Pirates. The question instead is whether he would be able to cope with the amount of pressure he getting himself to and be able to fulfill all the expectation both from a holistic point of view? Will the Sebian born be able to solve pirates problem or the team together with the supporters will solve him and force him to hand his resignation.
